It was old home week for Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella dining at Mr. Brown’s Lounge in the Loop — especially for Jamaican native Pepa, as the group lunched on chef Chris Douglas’ authentic Jamaican food, leading Pepa to return that night for dinner too! Among the Caribbean cuisine happily enjoyed: grilled jerk chicken wings, island-style mac ‘n’ cheese, plus some island rum punch.

In June, the property welcomed the newest location of Mr. Brown’s Lounge, known for its jerk chicken and authentic Jamaican cuisine. Executive Chef Chris Douglas, a Jamaican native, offers items like the signature Jamaican Jerk Wings, which are marinated overnight and then slow cooked on a charcoal grill for maximum flavor. Other dishes include the Island Style Mac & Cheese, a secret family recipe. Additional dishes that combine American and Jamaican style cuisine include the Jerk Caesar Salad and the 8oz. Jerk Seasoned Filet Mignon with Scotch Bonnet Demi Glace.

Being the foodie that I am, one of my favorite things about living in such a diverse city is the vastly different restaurants. The first night I lived in Chicago, I tried Indian food for the first time and I knew right away, I was going to love this city!
